Store Manager

Salary: £50,000 plus Commission

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead the brand’s Boutique on Chiltern Street. As the face of the brand, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing inventory, ensuring the store’s visual standards are upheld, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will also play a pivotal role in recruiting new customers, managing a talented team, and implementing creative promotional campaigns that align with the brand ethos, leveraging strong stock management to ensure key products are always available to meet demand and drive sales.

Tasks and Skills
• Sales Focus & Customer Experience:
oTo Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets through effective sales strategies and excellent customer service.
o Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and referrals. o Identify sales opportunities and market trends, tailoring strategies to enhance the shopping experience and drive revenue.
o Offer tailored styling advice and showcase the brand’s collections to elevate the in-store experience.
o Oversee the omni-channel experience, ensuring seamless integration between in-store, online, and click-and-collect services to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
• Team Management & Development:
o Effectively manage staff rotas to ensure the right coverage at all times, balancing customer demand, team availability, and budget efficiency.
o Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, ensuring each member is motivated, skilled, and aligned with the brand’s values.
o Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that prioritises exceptional customer service and brand representation.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and offer ongoing coaching and development for team members.
o Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about the brand’s products, history, and values to deliver a top-tier customer experience.
• Inventory & Stock Management:
o Take full ownership of stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment to meet customer demand while avoiding overstock.
o Maintain an organised stockroom, implement stock rotation best practices, and ensure accuracy in the inventory system.
o Collaborate with the HQ product team to coordinate the timely delivery of new stock, ensuring product availability on the sales floor.
o Oversee and conduct annual stock takes and any additional stock counts as required. o Be accountable for achieving sell-through targets, proactively managing inventory to drive sales and minimise markdowns.
• Promotional Campaigns & Marketing:
o Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute in-store promotional campaigns and events that drive footfall and sales.
o Contribute to visual merchandising and ensure that displays reflect seasonal trends, promotions, and brand identity.
• Reporting & Analysis:
o Provide weekly and monthly reports on store performance, sales, customer feedback, and inventory levels.
o Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
o Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adapt sales strategies and remain competitive.
o Attend HQ virtual meetings weekly, including any ad hoc board meetings where senior management is present. Ensure regular check-ins with HQ to stay aligned with company goals.
o Manage the store budget, including tracking expenses, controlling costs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
• Health & Safety Compliance:
o Ensure the store operates in compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
o Conduct regular safety checks and maintain an organized and clean working environment for both customers and staff.
• Other Responsibilities:
o Act as a brand ambassador, upholding the boutique’s reputation for sophistication and individuality.
o Gather and share customer feedback with HQ, providing insights on product preferences, trends, and areas for improvement. Raise comments on product designs to help shape future collections.
o Assist in the planning and execution of events or special collaborations.
o Ensure a seamless customer experience through excellent product knowledge, seamless transactions, and a welcoming environment.
Qualifications & Skills
• Proven experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager in a retail environment, preferably within high-end fashion or luxury retail.
• Strong sales and customer-focused mindset with a passion for fashion and luxury retail.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and Shopify Plus.
• A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to adapt to changing retail environments.
