Senior Outerwear / Jacket Designer - Ladies and Menswear

We are recruiting for a Senior Designer specialising in casual and formal jackets / outerwear across ladies wear and menswear to work for my client, a leading supplier to several large fashion retailers. This role will be working for one of their major accounts who are one of the largest fashions forward retailers, a commercial young trend led design portfolio is required for this role with relevant experience and a strong technical understanding along with the ability to work in a commercial fast paced environment.

Previous supplier experience is required for this role. Some travel to Bangladesh factories will be required.

Main Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Complete trend research, design and develop ranges working with the overseas factories.
• Visit factories in Bangladesh to ensure all samples are correct when requires
• Ability to create bestselling ranges.
• Attend regular meetings with buyers when required.
• Upload detailed tech packs to the PLM system to send to Factories
• Required to work in a fast-paced environment, high volume design/development
• Sourcing of new fabrics and trims
• Work closely with the account manager and wider design teams

Person Specifications :

• Design experience across casual and formal jackets/ outerwear
• Ladies wear experience essential as well as having some menswear experience
• Previous supplier experiences working with large volume retailers.
• Good understanding of garment costing
• Strong attention to detail and able to work in an organised manner
• Excellent communication & organisational skills
