Senior Outerwear Designer - Ladies and Menswear

If you are an experienced Outerwear Designer with a strong background in Casual and Formal jackets across ladies wear and menswear, this role would be ideal for you. Working for our client, who are a leading supplier to several large fashion UK retailers.

This role will be working for one of their major accounts who are one of the largest fashions forward retailers. A commercial young trend led design portfolio is required for this role with relevant experience and a strong technical understanding along with the ability to work in a commercial fast paced environment.

Previous supplier experience is required for this role. Some travel Bangladesh to factories will be required, this role offers 1 day working from home.

Main Duties and responsibilities will include.

• Complete trend research, design and develop ranges working with the overseas factories.
• Visit factories in Bangladesh to ensure all samples are correct when requires
• Ability to create bestselling ranges.
• Attend regular meetings with buyers when required.
• Upload detailed tech packs to the PLM system to send to Factories
• Required to work in a fast-paced environment, high volume design/development
• Sourcing of new fabrics and trims

Person Specifications :

• Design experience across casual and formal jackets/ outerwear
• Ladies wear experience essential as well as having some menswear experience
• Previous supplier experience working with large volume retailers.
• Good understanding of garment costing
• Strong attention to detail and able to work in an organised manner
• Excellent communication & organisational skills
