Senior Ladieswear Designer

Our client was established in the early 2000’s and are proud to be as strong as ever.  Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Designer to work from their office in Spain.  The ideal candidate will have a background in designing Jersey & Wovens.

This company owns its own factories with accounts including River Island, Next, Zara and some supermarkets.

We are looking for someone with a strong background designing for the Inditex Group to be based out of our clients office in A Coruña.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Monthly market research of customers assortment & report to overseas offices
  • Catwalk analysis and Trend report preparation for specified categories
  • Trend shopping locally and overseas
  • Prepare direction for seasonal yarn trends and coordinate with sourcing teams
  • Send reports to all customers & factories
  • Develop tech packs with specs for seasonal in-house collection
  • Select colours & yarns for the companies in-house collection
  • Create cads for factory development
  • Overseas travel to Bangladesh and China to follow up your development
  • Create in-season STYLE FLASH reports & send to relevant customers
  • Maintain seasonal showroom and set up by customer to maximise exposure
  • Create cads as per customers’ requests
  • Build close relationships with customers design teams to maximise potential business
  • Responsible to setting up customer meetings 
  • Work closely with factories on Product development
  • Coordinate with in-house Product Developer and Merchandising team
  • Customer meetings & product presentations & recaps
  • Follow up customer requests with overseas offices
  • Support factories for order follow up when needed
  • Introduce new customers and develop the business with them
  • Promote yarns, fabrics and production capabilities
  • All customer coordination up to production stage
  • Work strategically with Senior Management to build UK office into its own profit centre
  • Take full ownership in growing your category
  • Build positive office culture with ‘can do’ attitude
  • Lead by example
  • Travel required as needed
