Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee an efficient and accurate sample development process to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with buying teams to ensure samples meet commercial requirements and achieve a right-first-time approach.
- Innovate garment manufacturing methods and construction techniques through strong partnerships with suppliers and factories.
- Conduct risk assessments for products within your portfolio, identifying and resolving potential challenges.
- Develop a deep understanding of key garment suppliers and their capabilities.
- Provide clear and detailed technical instructions to offshore offices to streamline production.
- Prepare and assess garments prior to fit sessions, reviewing construction elements such as tension, fabric type, and overall quality.
- Fit garments alongside Designers and Buyers to confirm specifications align with the Design Brief and delivery timelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve testing issues to minimise risk and optimise decision-making processes.
Person Specification:
- A minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Garment Technician in the fashion or related industry.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team.
- Background in a major clothing retailer or manufacturer.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Advanced understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and grading with practical application skills.
