JJH talent have partnered with this beautiful premium womenswear brand to help them in their search for a Product Developer/Garment Technologist to cover a 12-month maternity contract. Whilst they specialize in multi-products, including knitwear and tailoring, this role will be covering their dresses and soft separates area.
Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Product Developer/Garment Technologist to join the product team of this high-profile premium womenswear fashion brand. The right candidate will successfully manage a crucial part of the product development chain, and be an important part of a small, dynamic and fast-growing team based in London.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the product development process for most styles from factory hand over sample to pre shipment approval
- Responsible for smooth and clear inhouse to factory sample communication: from receiving detailed handovers internally to ensuring each sample stage is signed off on time
- Schedule and lead sample handover meetings with suppliers at the start of each collection launch and manage all monthly meetings with suppliers to follow up on queries
- Create, update and maintain all tech packs, BOMs and production measurement charts
- Serve as the primary point of contact with suppliers for all factory sample comments
- Build and maintain supplier relationships whilst ensuring our product is of the highest quality Liaise with the pattern cutters regarding any technical construction or pattern query
- Work with our pattern cutters and machinist to ensure mockups and sample amendments are completed and signed off on time.
- Prepare the room for weekly fittings getting all samples ready, ordered by pattern cutter etc Ensure detailed and clear notes are taken during weekly fittings
- Update the PLM after fittings with all fit photographs
- Ensure the fit room and sample rails remain tidy and organised at all times with every sample in the correct location
- Review quality of old season toiles and development samples.
- Prepare and pack up for future sample sales.
- Measure and visual check all factory samples, log their arrive, update measurements and prepare the PLM ready for fit sessions
- Chase Suppliers for final bulk grade sets. Review, approve & update on the PLM
- Create AQL measurement sheets for our warehouse for each style after PP approved into production
- Responsible for handing over approved PSS (approved development samples) to Marketing for photoshoots and informing logistics PSS can be booked in
The Ideal Candidate’s will have:
- Over 4 years experience working in Product Development and Garment Technology within the fashion industry
- Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers and stakeholders
- Strong technical understanding
- Strong correspondence skills
- Experience working with factories in the Far East & Europe
- Professional, highly motivated, hardworking and flexible, comfortable with change
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent at planning, organising and prioritising workload
- Strong computer skills
- Works well under pressure
