Product Developer
Our client is a fast fashion, Licensed Garment supplier to most of the high street. They are currently recruiting for a creative Product Developer to join their team. This role will be split across Head Office in Leicester and a site in Loughborough so candidate must drive and be flexible to go to either site.
Product Developer - The Role:
- The purpose of this role is to manage the end-to-end sample process from design concept to pp sample approval, reporting to the account manager
- This role would suit someone with a love of product, strong administrative skills (particularly excel) along with an eye for detail and a strong desire to get the job done.
- Working closely with designers to ensure a smooth handover of approved concepts to the chosen factory for sampling (mainly UK print room) – ensuring print technique, size and AW is clear with all colours correctly called out so the sample can be made
- Adding sample requests to internal trackers
- Chasing in sample blanks and ensuring these are sent to the print room in time for the sample to be printed & dealing with any questions and queries that may arise.
- Upon receiving samples, checking they match cad and look like the concept prior to submitting for customer / licensor approval
- Updating trackers with pp sample photos
- Monitoring approval comments in D365 from licensor in conjunction with customer feedback, re-submitting samples if necessary
- Ensuring all samples are ticketed and organised in a tidy manner so they can be found by other team members easily.
- Working with the Merchandiser to ensure all packaging artworks are in place and getting licensed back neck prints approved, ideally prior to order handover
- At order handover stage to clearly ensure the production CP is updated with any approval / customer sample comments and samples with tickets handed over to the print room as the production standard
- Potential to attend customer, licensor and new supplier meetings if required
Product Developer - The Candidate:
- Would suit a recent fashion graduate or 2nd jobber from a creative background, who is willing to learn and grow within the department
- Ideally to have a flair for fashion & an eye for colour, styling and graphics
- Must be highly organised with attention to detail
- Confidence and strong communication skills are essential, as will be dealing with internal teams across print, licensing, sales and production
- Ability to work under pressure & cope with tight deadlines
- Proactive approach & flexibility is essential
- Previous experience in licensing would be an advantage
- Previous experience in garment printing would be an advantage
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office packages, especially EXCEL
