This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic HR Services team as the Payroll Operations Team Manager where you will be leading a team of payroll specialists in Head Office to provide central payroll support to both regional and head office colleagues.
You will be responsible for delivering the monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation. You'll be a natural people-person, a confident communicator, with great attention to detail.
This role will give you responsibility and autonomy to support the strategic goals of the HR Services Department while reporting directly into the Head of HR Operations.

What you'll do
Oversee and ensure accurate and timely payroll for c.35,000 employees based across Great Britain
Lead the dynamic Payroll team members in line with our corporate principles and legislation
Develop the Payroll team to deliver an excellent standard of service to all colleagues and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with legal and internal guidelines throughout the HR lifecycle journey (inc. GDPR, Eligibility to Work and HMRC Tax and National Insurance requirements)
Proactively review and update company policy requirements and team training material in accordance with legislation
Actively engage with ongoing digitalisation projects to ensure successful and sustainable implementation
Deliver key support to senior management team
Prepare comprehensive and succinct reporting
Uphold colleague confidentiality at all times
What you'll need
CIPP qualified (essential)
Demonstrable history of career progression within payroll (essential)
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated, able to work independently within a high-pressured environment
Ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
A naturally analytical mind-set
Excellent standard of numeracy
The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines
