Merchandiser

We are working with a successful fashion business who are growing and looking for an innovative and forward-thinking Merchandiser to join their dynamic team.

Based in Liverpool, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on driving commercial success and thinking strategically. You should have a strong understanding of product planning and category management, with the ability to analyse sales data, optimise stock levels, and identify growth opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in shaping their product range, aligning with financial goals, and driving category performance.

This role offers hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the planning and buying process across multiple product categories, identifying growth opportunities for future seasons while ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Develop and present comprehensive sales and buy plans by category, including attribute analysis and sales ranking for strategic decision-making.
  • Work with Product Development Team to ensure collections are commercially balanced by category.
  • Lead weekly trading meetings for assigned categories, providing insights and commercial analysis to drive trading opportunities throughout the season across products and channels.
  • Liaise with Factories to manage product flow and availability aligned with product launches and customer intake.
  • Oversee category WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock, and Intake), ensuring it aligns with the overall financial WSSI.
  • Oversee Open to Buy management, reacting to trade conditions by initiating re-buys and actioning cancellations as necessary.
  • Maintain line cards for all continuity styles, ensuring balanced sales-to-stock ratios to maximise future sales and providing forecasts for sales, intake, and stock in line with business requirements.

Person Specification:

  • Previous relevant merchandising experience in a fashion business.
  • Excellent analytical skills and be highly numerate.
  • Commercial eye with an interest in fashion.
  • Highly IT literate, able to use Microsoft Excel Advance and software.
  • Team player who is friendly and passionate.
