Kidswear Designer

About the Role

A brilliant  opportunity has become available for a Kidswear Designer to join an established thriving fashion business who supply to the UK & International high street.

The business is a leading supplier to the UK high street and supermarkets. They are seeking a talented Kidswear designer who is adept in the technical aspects of the product including "fits". You will be designing Kidswear multiproduct (70%), this is a very important growth area for the company, as well as supporting them with fits (30%). 

Kidswear Designer: The Role:

• Identifying new trends, expressing them to the internal team and turning them into marketable designs.
• Working with the Design Manager to establish the visual direction for every collection.
• Putting together precise technical brief packs and collaborating closely with factories to produce initial samples.

• Lead customer fit sessions and support on technical designs including taking fit comments, alterations and communicate them to the sample rooms.

• Ensuring prompt feedback to factories on designs/samples.
• Being aware of product potential and seasonal strategy in order to introduce new, trend-driven designs to customers.
• Taking responsibility for the important paths within development and design in order to guarantee that business deadlines are fulfilled.

Kidswear Designer: The Person:

• Previous supplier experience within kidswear
• Experience with high street large volume retailers.
• Knowledge in garment fits advantageous. 
• Ability to create technical brief sheets that are extremely precise and well organized.
• Outstanding organisational abilities.
