Barnardo's have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Head of New Goods role (Retail)

The Head of New Goods is responsible for the management of Barnardo trading, buying and merchandising activities.

  • Permanent full time position (36.25 hours per week)
  • Hybrid – Working from home or in our Barkingside Hub 
  • Salary £44,347 - £59,583 plus £312 office at home allowance per annum

The ideal candidate will need:

  • Graduate or a relevant discipline such as business, marketing, mathematics or management can be helpful
  • Understanding of web design and web analytic software
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Understanding and application of financial practices
  • Experience in marketing and technology
  • Ability to make decisions

Some of the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

You will be responsible for the development of the growing Trading Team this will be through effective coaching and regular meetings.  You will also be leading the buying and merchandising team and resolve any issue to make sure deadlines are met.  Annual audit is completed to the exacting standards that are required by our external auditors.    Working with the Finance Strategic lead to introduce, manager, update new report and forecasting tools to efficiently allocate stock to the right place.  Make sure the effective analysis of data so that the accurate buying decisions are made all allocation of stock going to stores and online is done correctly, efficiently and in a targeted manner.  You will also need to use sales analysis to purchase a commercial range that is suitable specifically for Barnardo's online customer and build on successes.
