Head of Garment Technical & Compliance

Our clients are one of Britain's best-loved children's brands, having supplied quality garments for many , many decades. Their heritage for quality gives them a leading edge in the market, providing the very highest standards of childrenswear . We are now looking to recruit a key position in our product team.

This role involves line management  of a team of the "  fabulous Five" . Overseeing regional QC while working closely with offshore offices this senior role has accountability for fabric, product & packaging quality also responsible for the environmental, social, and ethical compliance of the business and its suppliers.

The ranges encompass both woven and knitted garments across a variety of products and the ability to deliver consistent quality standards is key.

There will be some overseas travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing the team of technologists both on shore and offshore ensuring Critical path timelines are achieved for both Fabric & product approvals.

Understanding all requirements of being a responsible and ethical business, developing and presenting CSR policy. Managing the compliance side of the business ensuring all factories are up to date and meeting business requirements on production standards while being ethically & technically compliant to the company policy.

Ensuring quality standards are met with consistent products that match the brand specifications.

Managing the quality of the inhouse embroidery team.

Managing critical path deadlines, ensuring the team are achieving KPI timelines.

Overseeing and identifying innovation in fabrics and engineering of products to achieve the most effective methods of manufacturing.

Ensure continuity fabrics and garments are consistently maintained at the company's standards this includes proactively monitoring customer returns.

Managing budgets for Testing, Ethical and environmental trade body memberships, and Technologists Travel.

Expertise in fit, constantly looking at improvement of fit and grading.

Skills, experience, and education requirements:

A proven record managing quality & compliance across both woven and knitted garments.

A strong understanding of textile quality standards and the necessary testing requirements to deliver to brand standards.

Experience of leading teams in time challenged situations.

Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience of working with a variety of offshore factories and sourcing offices.
