Finance Business Partner - Telecoms

In this role, you will be the lead finance contact for the Telecoms leadership team working closely with the MD and Directors for Telecoms - being the key finance interface with Tesco Mobile Joint Venture, partnering the business on strategic projects across Telecoms, key contact working closely with the Tesco Mobile finance team, as well as overseeing an end to end P&L for the Telecoms UK business.
You will be responsible for:
You will be reporting into the Head of Finance – Customer & Telecoms and will work alongside the Telecoms Leadership team, Operations Team and Tesco Mobile finance team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Business partner the Group Telecoms director on a range of projects related to the JV relationship between Tesco and VMO2 and shareholder signoffs / annual PLC updates.
Lead the monthly Telecoms Exec sessions, setting clear agenda with the Group Telecoms director and holding project owners to account to present updates in timely fashion to provide progress or request sign offs for new or existing projects.
Overseeing and reviewing the workload of 2 colleagues in TBS.
Work closely with the International TM businesses (ROI, CZ & SK) to pull together quarterly dashboard of Group Telecoms performance for Telecoms Leadership team.
Lead on Capital approval papers, including scoping the level of trial analysis and frequency with the TBS team.
Work alongside Business leads on Store of the Future - New Tesco mobile store proposition - across the estate covering IC papers and performance reporting.
Be the UK lead standing over FP&A for Telecoms (period reviews, budget and LTP), reviewing the outputs for P&L, working capital, capex, payment terms and cashflow submissions prepared by the TBS team.
Work closely with the Tesco Mobile finance team to understand performance drivers and obtain analysis to understand shareholder return movements.
Prepare and present the finance pack to Telecoms Exec, including the Tesco Mobile & Telecoms CEO, on a periodic basis.
You will need:
Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (preferred)
Experience of engaging and working with senior business stakeholders
Evolved financial analysis skills
Ability to interpret data & derive analysis from scratch
Commercial awareness & business acumen
Strong Influencing skills
Resilience & willingness to challenge the status quo
