Fabric Technologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen within this highly reputable supplier for an experienced Fabric Technologist to join at this exciting time.

We are looking for a Fabric Technologist to join a small, fast paced and friendly Fabric team.

Role:

• Support the Fabric Team on all aspects of physical and chemical compliance
• Dealing with Fabric Issues, Shortages, Claims and defects – also ensuring follow up on any issues
• Manage and update Fabric reports
• Fabric Testing
• Work closely with the Design, Sales, Technical and Production teams and are a key support on any fabric performance issues.
• Develop relationships with fabric mills – regular communication & to resolve quality issues.
• Constantly striving to find ways to make sure all our garments reach the customers needs
• Improving quality and fit of fabrics
• Plan for any key fabric trade fairs, reporting newness and maintaining key supplier relationships
• Deliver key fabric message for each product area
• Influencing fabrics for tendered garment programs
• Work with factories to identify, resolve and reduce production quality issues.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in the value end retail fashion industry
• Excellent systems knowledge, excel and online portals
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent organisation and co-ordination skills
• Can do attitude
• Good technical and commercial fabric knowledge
• Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels
• Reliable, flexible and good at working within a fast pace team
• Self-motivation, Proactive and the ability to take the initiative and respond quickly to change.
• Reporting skills
