Testing & Certification Co-Ordinator * Birmingham / office based role*

This role’s primary objective is to support, drive and uphold and maintain the brands garment and product testing and certification program, ensuring compliance with all PPE and non-PPE protective clothing regulations.
Working closely with design and technical colleagues, external manufactures and the notified body certification partners.
Responsibilities:
Garment Testing: Arrange and send samples and/or fabrics to the testing partners.
Generate PO’s and follow the invoicing process for all testing and certification costs.
Garment Certification: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical files, including risk assessments, test reports, and declarations of conformity. Minimizing the need for any corrective actions.
Fabric testing, request independent fabric test reports from the suppliers to ensure fabrics pass to the set standards and are within date.
Data Management: Upload all fabric and garment test reports and certifications into the company database. Liaise with marketing to add certification and standard information to the EU declaration of conformity forms.
Maintenance: Keep a running record of all test and certification end dates, plan and instigate new tests and certification’s when required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in the textiles testing industry and PPE market or quality management discipline.
You will have a keen eye for detail, a confident approach to service delivery and the ability to provide solutions within tight deadlines.
You will be an excellent relationship builder, highly organised and have an awareness of the commercial demands within the businesses.
We are looking for you to demonstrate an ability to manage your own workload and to show excellent communication skills on the phone and face to face.
Excellent computer literacy, verbal and written communication skills are must.
Knowledge of product standards and test methods for protective clothing
Knowledge of textiles materials and an understanding of the textile industry
Knowledge of the PPE regulations (EU) 2015/425
Knowledge of CE marking relating to compliance in product safety markets for protective clothing would be advantageous , not essential
Experience of working with an ISO 9000 quality management system and or a textile testing laboratory
Stay updated on relevant legislation, standards, and regulatory changes.
