Designer - Ladieswear

We are working with an established and successful fashion manufacturer who supply to UK fashion retailers and e-tailers who focus on quality and style. They are looking for a Designer across jersey and / or woven ladieswear who is able to lead design meetings and be the main point of contact for key accounts.

In this position you will be part of an established team and must be ahead of the trends, create seasonal mood boards and colour palettes. It's imperative to be innovative, show creativity and flair, designing quality garments and presenting these to customers.

A strong commercial jersey and woven design background from either a supplier or retailer is required.

Main Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Constantly researching fashion trends, creating story boards, designing and developing product.
• Maintaining and establishing relationships with customers, being the main point of contact.
• Working collaboratively with other Designers, Account managers and Garment Technologists working to design commercial, fashion-led jersey and woven product.
• Awareness of sustainable trading and ethical manufacturing.
• Attend and lead customer meetings, working to set briefs.
• Manage sampling development of critical path.
• Sourcing of new fabrics and trims.
• Liaise with our overseas factories and to produce detailed design sheets for sampling.

Person Specifications :

• Previous supplier or retail experience within jersey and woven with a strong commercial eye.
• Confident communicator with experience liaising with customer accounts.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Adobe packages, creating CADs.
• Ability to work to multiple deadlines.
