Assistant Merchandiser

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Assistant Merchandiser to join our clients fashion team in Hampshire. This role supports the Merchandising team in maximizing sales and profitability through effective stock management, sales analysis, and range planning. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for fashion trends, strong numerical skills, and previous experience in merchandising or retail.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Analysis: Assist in monitoring sales performance and stock levels, identifying trends, and recommending actions to optimize sales.
Range Planning: Support the Merchandiser in planning product ranges and assortments, ensuring alignment with seasonal trends and sales forecasts.
Stock Management: Manage stock levels by tracking deliveries, coordinating stock transfers, and minimizing excess inventory.
Trading: Contribute to trading meetings, providing insights on sales data, stock availability, and market trends.
Reporting: Prepare weekly sales and stock reports for review by the Merchandising team, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with buying, supply chain, and store teams to ensure cohesive merchandising strategies.
Market Awareness: Stay informed on fashion trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to support commercial decisions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Previous experience in merchandising, buying, or retail (fashion industry preferred).
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Passion for fashion and understanding of current trends.
Degree in fashion, business, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
