Assistant Footwear Product Developer

We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Footwear Product Developer to join a globally renowned brand, based in the heart of Central London. This is a unique role for someone with 2+ years of experience in the footwear industry, looking to take their career to the next level.

Main Responsibilities will include:

• Report directly to the Senior Footwear Product Developer
• Collaborate closely with the Design Team to create and refine styles across seasonal collections
• Maintain and update the product critical path, ensuring smooth progress from prototype samples to final salesman samples/Gold Seal
• Oversee pre-production, ensuring that key deadlines and timelines are met
• Manage and oversee the creation of all seasonal, SMU, and collaboration products
• Organize and maintain an efficient footwear sample system
• Handle all aspects of post-sampling, including trims, colour development, and deliveries from suppliers
• Foster strong day-to-day relationships with factories
• Provide weekly updates to all teams, summarizing critical path changes and outstanding tasks
• Work closely with the design team to ensure products meet margin targets
• Support product testing processes to relevant standards
• Identify, communicate, and manage risks or challenges at all stages of product development
• Offer general support to the team in daily tasks and activities
• Liaise effectively with marketing, sales, customer service, and operations teams on product queries
• Travel to supplier locations as required

Person Specification

• 2-3 years of experience in a reputable footwear company
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive follow-up approach
• Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to manage your own workload independently
• Passionate about working in a collaborative and innovative team setting
