Assistant designer/product developer

Our client is an established fashion brand, with beautiful ranges across clothing, footwear and accessories.
An opportunity has arisen within their design team for an talented and ambitious designer/developer to work on footwear and accessories.

The Role -

• Assisting the category designer with seasonal research to identify and realise new product and design opportunities
• Assisting the category designer with the creation of CAD Designs & technical design packs
• Coordinating requests for, and the review of fabric submits, lab dips and hardware components relevant to the finished product
• Coordinating submits into relevant libraries for reference within the design studio
• Interact on a daily basis with factories/vendors to support the creation of new products
• Accountable for all sample tracking through the PLM System. Including Co-ordination and comments up to and including Salesman samples
• Assigning samples to triallists following the recommended list of people and their sizes and creating wearer trial forms and processing comments
• Researching care guides for any new fabrications
• Reviewing wearer trial feedback in conjunction with care guides and draft wording for disclaimer
• Highlight any potential new packaging requirements and distribute necessary communications to the wider team

The ideal candidate will be passionate about product, confident and highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic. This opportunity is an ideal role for someone new to the industry yet to specialise as this role covers design, development and some technology.
A basic understanding of the creative and technical aspects of product development coupled with good
interpersonal skills is essential.

Being a proficient IT user including use of CAD, Photoshop and illustrator is also a pre-requisite for this role.
