Account Manager

Our client is one of the largest global manufacturers of cards and gifts. They are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join their team, focused on developing and executing plans to drive sales with key retail partners. This role requires a solid understanding of product knowledge, retail dynamics, store compliance, and operational processes. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as you will serve as a primary liaison with retail partners, store contacts, and internal teams, including supply chain and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage relationships with customers and retail contacts to strengthen partnerships.
  • Leverage your understanding of the retailer's objectives to maximize opportunities, influence decisions, and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Execute commercial contracts while driving performance to meet or exceed targets.
  • Identify, manage, and deliver profitable solutions to commercial, operational, and seasonal challenges.
  • Propose solutions to reduce product wastage and provide recommendations for trading strategy, category vision, point-of-sale improvements, and in-store sales plans.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven account management experience with commercial contracts, ideally with a national retailer and across multiple channels.
  • Collaborative with product development to align product ranges with retailer standards.
  • Deep understanding of the retail environment, compliance, and critical path timelines.
  • Skilled negotiator, able to influence and find commercial solutions for planned and unexpected challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills, using data to drive decisions and influence stakeholders in sales, service levels, and market trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and adaptable communication skills, building and managing relationships effectively.
  • Confidence in ambiguity, making quick, informed decisions with minimal risk.
